Harvest 2023

Now that the 2023 harvest is complete, we are very positive about the raw material in the wine cellar. The 2023 vintage was one of the most difficult in recent years and required everything from us in the vineyards. Spring was quite dry at the start of vegetation, but soon became very wet and cool, especially at the start of flowering. The summer turned out to be very humid and particularly hot with three heatwaves in July and August. However, rain fell repeatedly, especially at night, which led to long periods of leaf wetness and thus increased the fungal pressure. Even at the beginning of autumn, until around the beginning of September, it remained slightly humid, then finally came the dry and golden autumn, which led to perfect ripeness, especially for red wine varieties.  We can look forward to fresh, fruity and juicy white wines from the 2023 vintage. This year's red wines show good ripeness and elegance, especially in varieties such as Pinot Noir, Schiava and Lagrein. Nevertheless, the wines have a very good tannin structure. To sum up the 2023 vintage, we can say that our excellent Vigna´s have really stood out in terms of quality this year and we are lucky to have outstanding Vigna´s.
